Headaches/Migraines
Do you suffer from headaches and/or migraines?
It was estimated by Statistics Canada that approximately 2.7 million Canadians were diagnosed with migraines in 2010/2011. Migraines are often considered a debilitating neurological condition by those who suffer from them. There is currently much speculation as to the cause of migraine headaches. However, it is certain that the autonomic nervous system plays a significant role in the occurrence of migraines. The autonomic nervous system is composed of two systems: your parasympathetic and sympathetic nervous systems. In order to have an autonomic system that is functioning properly, the parasympathetic and sympathetic nervous systems need to function harmoniously with one another. Dr. Guillemette analyzes these two systems in order to determine if they are unbalanced with one another. Specific chiropractic therapies are then used in order to return the body to its homeostatic balance. Homeostasis in the body greatly diminishes the chances of recurrent migraines or headaches.
